#1 I have been promoted, I am now a bond trader which is a nice increase in pay and some additional responsibilities. I really enjoy looking at the bond market it is a great way to get information on the overall state of the economy and on the overall market. I also work with TONS of money most clients that talk to me have around 6 mill to work with. I enjoy my new job

#2 I am in a place of awful pain. My weight lifting has plateaued so I decided to change it up. I don't know if I invented these but I call them "whose my bitch sets" This is where you have to have a crazy lifting partner to make it worth while. Basically your partner picks your weight and how many reps and what type of set you do for the lift. We did chest yesterday I can do almost 3 plates on each side on flat bench about 2 times my partner chose for me to do 4 plates with a forced set. we had two spotters on each side and he forced me to do 8 reps. The next set he made me do a drop set where we started out with 4 plates 8 reps 3 plates 10 reps 2 plates 12 reps 1 plate 20 reps. followed by a set of 100 push ups. We did some other crazy sets The more I would make him work the more he would make me hurt. It was an awesome workout my chest has not been this sore since I started working out 12 years ago. We have decided to do whose my bitch sets for one body part once a week I think it would be over training to do it more than that....

I passed my insurance portion of the CFP exam!! WOOT. I just have 5 more semesters then I will be done with CFP. Also I now can get tuition reimbursement from my job, everyone loves that. Too bad it is taxed like normal income booooo taxes.

Speaking of taxes, I am really hating this tax module, it feels like a hellish mix of accounting 210 and English 101. My poor professor speaks with a heavy accent and I cant tell what she is saying 1/2 of the time. (sigh)

market was so so until the end of the day today where there was a nice rally. Going to the dealership tomorrow to drop off the title for the ole Alero and talk to the finance manager there about the job offer we talked about a few days ago. Here is hoping he can beat my salary I am making now by 12k to compensate for the lost benefits. I am also taking my test on insurance tomorrow so wish me luck garrrrg tests... am I not too old for this?

Yes friends believe it or not I am back in school (again) I am going to class here in about 10 minutes. I am taking a class on taxes and estate planning it is very interesting. The only flaw is the teacher talks with a very heavy accent and it is tough to understand her at times. She also does not allow us time to ask questions so most of my learning comes from self study. But it is a very interesting subject.

Hooray for a good day in the market today!!! I actually made some money today I love it. Have fun I will be at school till 10 YUCK...

I took the FBI entrance exam this week, it was pretty rough but I think I did well. I just came back from visiting our new house and it is 90% framed all that is left is the roof. It is tons of fun seeing the house come together. Work has been crazy because of the market woes. Things are going well. Not much else to report.

I am studying for the series 66 to become a financial adviser representative. It should be a good thing I can then render financial advice or guidance. I am also getting set to go back to school. I will be attending Westminster in the upcoming month I am going to be getting my CFP. It is a good thing to get as a financial professional. in addition we are building a house. the foundation is just finished and the framing will start next week. That is about it friends. Life is not too bad of late. Jen and I went and checked out a few houses this weekend so far. We found us a really nice realitor. He is working hard for our business. We saw a fixer upper in West Jordan. It is going for 175k the only way we would buy that sucker is if it dropped below 110. The owner is smoking something. We took a tour, apparently the owner thought that he could fix and flip the house, but he ran out of the green backs halfway thought eh project.It sucks for him but there is no way that house is worth what he is asking for it. Now is the best time ever to be buying a house. The market is just glutted with opportunities. It should take a few months but I feel like we are going to find a nice house.

nada to report of late. I am in the strange place called training. I sit and try my best to listen to 9 hours a day of bla bla bla bla, and try my best to retain all that is humanly possible. Sadly, by 5 I am just dieing to get out of the room. I probably retain 10 percent, I guess I am going to have to learn the rest on the job. Nothing like a little OJT. Also some good news I get the chance to take the series 66 test, if I pass that little guy I can give financial advice to clients, after specific profiling, but I can give advice never the less. However, the pass rate for the darn test is like 60 percent.

Got the chance yesterday to go to Big Cottonwood Canyon to do some climbing. It felt pretty good to get out and have some fun. I have not been on the rock now for 3 weeks. I hope to go out again this coming weekend but we will have to see what the future holds. I work this next week Sunday - Friday so bleah... I hate weeks like this one.

I am also planning on attending the upcoming OZZY ZOMBIE concert. Any one out there want to come with? if so let me know a pal from my work wants to come with me so... who is up for it?

I am going to be working M T TH F 8 to 7. This is not a bad new shift this means that I will have my Sundays off in 4 weeks. YESSSSS and the Wendsday off makes a really good opportunuity to work some overtime. Got to love the overtime, it really pays the bills. No other news at this time...

Well good news / possible bad news

First I got my graveyard shift that I wanted originally, however I got a promotion at the same time so my graveyard shift is now gone. I have to re-apply for new shifts with my new responsibilities. So I currently don't know when my new shift is going to be. I surely hope I am not stuck on this same shift again (sigh).

I had a chance to to hunting again this year. I was privileged to go into the wilderness for a few weeks two of them to be exact. My father and I went bow hunting on the planes of Wyoming. It is a different kind of hunting. Because there is no real cover you have to create your own cover and wait behind it. we dug several pit blinds and created several sage brush blinds. But we were unsuccessful. We did see a few deer and a few small bucks but nothing to get excited about. Now it is back to the grind stone.

your employer promises you one 2 weeks of 8-5 training 5 days a week where you have Saturday and Sunday off and then.... they renig on the offer. (sigh) I had 2 weeks promised, and just when I had made up my schedule and my plans for the weekends, they came out today and said ohhh by the way you don't have those days off anymore, we need people to work Sunday and your team is now elected to do so. $##@$ #$@@#$ @#$#@$.

Anyway Shift bid is coming up soon so here is to getting a good shift. My #1 pick is Tuesday - Friday 3 pm to 4 am. If I get that shift It we will have to see what happens with the scheduling gods. I do not have enough seniority to really hope for anything good.

I went to go and visit my Grandma last night. She needed some help with her cable, so I took a short drive to her house to help her. On my way home there was a crazy micro burst. Small branches were being blown around, leaves debris and other small items were blowing all over. I stopped at a sign to wait and I stopped for a little longer then I should have, even though there were no other cars. Just as I was getting ready to start up again, a tree fell into the intersection severing the power lines, live power lines would make a loud pop every time they would dance and hit the ground. Had I not paused for a minute and went into the intersection the tree would have smashed the car and then I could have been electrocuted by the live wires. Instead I backed up and found another route home.

For those of you who know me this is not my first close call with the reaper , I guess the question is how many more "lives" do I have?

got a chance to sleep for an extra hour. Because today is a holiday I get the chance to sleep in for an extra hour. I feel really good and I feel refreshed. I am excited to work today. I get TRIPPLE TIME WHOOOOT. So really today is going to be like working 3 days straight :)
